Molly Crabapple was arrested at 8am this morning, while following the #OWS march from Zuccotti Park to Wall Street. She did not intend to get arrested.

Laurie Penny called National Lawyers Guild. NLG said new arrestees were being taken to 1 Police Plaza.

Activists who I talked to yesterday and this morning who had been beaten and arrested on Saturday said it took between 8-26 hours to be released from jail. A military member with 8 years service was released in 8 hours, without submitting to biometrics scans. A full time activist submitted to NYPD’s coercive iris scans in order to be released in time for today’s actions, 26 hours after he was thrown on the ground and tackled by six cops.

I’m safe, listening to Molly’s partner talking to Molly’s mom on the phone, police helicopters above and the chants and cheers of defiantly jubilant protesters on the streets below.
