Rockaway, November 3rd.
Neighbor 1, to 666 Burger crew: “Thank you for bringing warm food and beautiful women to the neighborhood!”Neighbor 2, to Neighbor 1: “Don’t try to take any of these girls home.”
Neighbor 1: “I can’t. I don’t have a home to take ‘em to.”

666 Burger’s food truck. We spent the day giving out free food, coffee, water and cellphone charges in Rockaway today. On the way over we saw convoys of National Guard, a boat in the middle of a major intersection, houses bent at sick angles, people’s entire possessions tossed, mold-covered, on the curb.
Sarah Jaffe has a wonderful article about how Occupy and other community organizing efforts are stepping into disaster relief roles. If you’re in New York, and in a position to volunteer, it is so fucking worth it.
Hot good food in Rockaway. 119 and Newport.

This is @666burger’s Doucheburger. It is gold leafed Kobe beef formed around foie gras, then topped with cave aged gruyere, truffle butter, lobster, caviar, and kopi luwak bbq sauce.
It is fucking delicious.
.
Gold leafing by @glukkake. Video crew photobombing by Nightline. Thanks to Xeni & BoingBoing for the linkage. For background on the Doucheburger, check Zeitgeist.

update 7/16: We’ve now been on Laughing Squid, courtesy Rusty Blazenhoff, and Animal NY, courtesy Marina Galperina, and Andrew Sullivan was apparently amused by 666 Burger as well. Thanks, y’all.
